20 & 21 November: Hymn to the Silence

In the series of concerts "The Manifest and the Unmanifest "we will again give two grand recital concerts in the beautiful 500-year-old Grote Kerk in Weesp on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 November. The previous concerts were themed "via Bach's cello suite to Aum" and "Arvo Pärt: Spiegel im Spiegel to Aum" and this time we will perform a composition entirely of our own.

For the past few months, we have been busy in the studio recording 2 CDs and these will be released around the date of the concert. These 2 CDs will appear in a booklet with poetry and texts by well-known masters and ourselves, among others. A book of sound and words for inward contemplation to recognise the Silence of what you essentially are. The book is called Silence Smiles and from this book with CDs we will perform "Hymn to the Silence" these evenings.

We will perform these two concerts in collaboration with Gé Bartman on cello, Aleksandra Anisimowicz soprano, Hans Karssen on didgeridoo, Norma Brooks on double bass, Eddy Koopman percussion, the choir Camerata Fectionata led by conductor Fred Smalbrugge, Fons Brouwer on great organ, Michael Telapary on native american flute, Frans de Rond with soundscapes and Spirit Connection with 30 gongs and singing bowls. The gong stands for freedom and inner harmony. When we lie in this magical whirlwind of sounds, any sense of separation from other people and nature disappears. Time and space dissolve into silence, the essence of what you essentially are.

This concert is a recumbent concert because it is about the total experience of it all, rather than the visual spectacle. It is an inner journey. For people who cannot lie down, it is always possible to attend this concert seated. There is also a disabled entrance in the church. The concert lasts about 1.5 hours.

The cost for this concert is €39 per person. The concert will be held in the Grote Kerk (Laurenskerk) on Nieuwstraat 31 in Weesp, on Friday 20 November at 9pm and Saturday 21 November at 8pm. The doors of the church will open at 8pm on Friday and 7pm on Saturday. Be sure to be on time, as the doors will be locked the moment the concert starts.

This is a reclining concert where you have to provide your own mat, pillow and blanket so that you can lie back and relax.
