The Magic of the Flute at Sound Chapel
On 30 May, Spirit Connection and Michael Telapary invite you to a special workshop in the unique acoustics of our Sound Chapel. Michael has been an indispensable force within our Hymn to the Silence ensemble for many years. His ability to interweave his own spirited playing with the deep resonance of the gongs and singing bowls makes him a true master in conveying sound experience.

What will you experience?
During this workshop, Michael will take you on an inner journey. The Native American flute is pre-eminently an instrument that speaks from the heart. Michael teaches you not only the technique, but especially how to transform your own breathing and feeling into sound.

• Intuitive Play: Discover how to create your own ‘soul song’ without sheet music.
• Insight & Deepening: Michael shares his years of experience as a musician and builder, helping you develop a deep respect and understanding of the instrument.
• The Sound Chapel Experience: Experience how the sounds of the flute come alive in the sacred silence of our chapel.

Michael will bring a large collection of flutes that can be listened to and possibly purchased.

To conclude the workshop, Michael gives a Chakra meditation on native flute in collaboration with Spirit Connection

Everyone is welcome.
Beginners discover how easily and naturally the instrument can be played. Those who are already experienced will notice how intention and attention deepen the playing.

During the day
Play together, listen to each other and explore how simple melodies can emerge from the pentatonic scale. Michael shows how small variations in breath, fingering and timing open up a different world of sound.

During the workshop
Play on a Red Kite flute in F#, borrowed from Michael. You can also try out different flutes and, if the instrument touches you, it is possible to purchase it.

About Michael Telapary
As the driving force behind the Hymn to the Silence ensemble, Michael knows better than anyone how to blend his own input with the collective energy of Spirit Connection. His presence brings an earthy, warm layer essential to our sound journeys. And is, in our opinion, one of the best native flute players.
