Grotta Sonora's unique gongs.
Grotta Sonora (sound cave) is the name of a project that has been taking shape since 2016 based on an idea by Madhava Carrara, musician and craft builder of musical instruments and singer Margherita Cioffi. In a cave in Calcata, Italy, a medieval village in the Treja Valley, they built sound sculptures where they experimented with the sounds of different types of metal. The idea is to create an 'orchestra' of unique instruments that can put people in touch with sound and its resonances.
Thanks to the experience they gained while building these instruments, they specialised in making special sound instruments.
After visiting their unique sound cave And a visit from them to us, we decided to include their beautiful gongs in our range.
